Later this semester, we’ll read an article by Ian Bogost (and if you were in my gaming class previously, you’ve read his book How to Do Things with Videogames). I found out from a colleague that Bogost will be on campus tomorrow at 3pm:
Friday, 10/20 @ 3pm
Math & Science Center W201
Bogost is a really interesting and provocative thinker and writer, and a professor at Georgia Tech. If you can make it, I strongly encourage you to attend his talk. As with previous events, if you do attend and write a post about the event for the class, I’ll offer extra credit.
Cindy announced in class on Tuesday that she is soliciting works of art to be displayed as part of a presentation to run in White Hall along with the College Council’s CultureSHOCK events. You might consider submitting work you’ve completed for this class (combophotos or cinemagraphs especially), or other works. If you’re interested, there’s a simple form you should fill out or email Cindy with questions.
